Brad Rogers is an associate professor and associate director of the Polytechnic School in the Ira A Fulton Schools of Engineering. He is a senior sustainability scientist in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability. As the director of research and development for GlobalResolve, an interdisciplinary initiative at ASU that seeks to improve conditions in extremely poor regions of the world, he has worked in many locations in the developing world. Concentrating on West Africa, he has taken approximately 40 students to work on his projects in rural and peri-urban areas in Ghana. His academic background is in the fields of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, magnetohydrodynamics, and applied mathematics, and he has been involved in the design and evaluation of traditional and alternative energy conversion systems for 36 years. He has been a faculty member at ASU since 1984, has taught more than 40 separate courses during his tenure, and has published more than 40 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has also worked in private industry and for national laboratories.
