The Women and Gender Studies program at Arizona State University focuses on the historical, cultural and social forces that shape our society. The interdisciplinary, award-winning faculty are committed to cultural diversity and global engagement and specialize in reproductive health; women’s history; gender and media; gender in science and technology; gender violence; and the “girl effect” among other topics.
Women and Gender studies is part of the School of Social Transformation, home to five interdisciplinary fields of study. We pursue social justice by studying gender, race and class and encouraging our students and faculty to find just solutions to complex social problems.
