Parking and Transit Services (PTS) is a unit of University Business Services at Arizona State University. PTS’ mission is to provide sustainable transportation and access solutions for all of ASU, the nation’s largest public university in terms of enrollment with more than 91,000 students and 12,000 employees. A self-sustaining department – meaning no tuition or fees are allocated to its budget – PTS oversees 21,000 parking spaces for its more than 24,000 permit holders and upward of 1 million visitors who park on campus each year. In support of the University’s sustainability initiative of striving to reach campus transportation carbon neutrality by 2035, PTS also manages intra- and intercampus shuttles and subsidizes annual public transportation passes up to 75 percent for students and 60 percent for faculty and staff. Additionally, PTS plays a significant role in the development and promotion of university biking and carpool programs. All these services combine to assist with traveling to, around and between the four campuses in an efficient, cost-effective and sustainable manner, making PTS an essential component of the "One University in Many Places" concept.
